Ryan James DeLaney is an award winning film producer and director based between Los Angeles and St. Louis and the founder of Mia Film Productions.
In November 2025, DeLaney wrapped production on two feature vertical projects for FOX Entertainment further expanding his slate across both documentary and narrative storytelling. He is currently preparing the release of four feature length documentaries slated for 2026 - 2027.
His upcoming films include “Wild Within”following wild horse photographer and advocate Meg Frederick; “Louis Chaix A Journey with Purpose”, chronicling French professional hockey player Louis Chaix’s record setting inline skate across the United States to raise awareness for Stevens-Johnson Syndrome and Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis; its companion film “Behind the Skates”, which explores the physical and emotional toll behind the journey; and “Spelling It Out: Surviving SJS & TEN”, a cinematic, educational documentary amplifying the voices of multiple survivors and medical experts.
DeLaney is also developing “The Runaway of the Outer Banks”, a documentary currently in development that further anchors Mia Film Productions expansion into long form storytelling.
Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, DeLaney grew up training quarter horses and was a 2008 National Barrel Horse Association State Champion, an early foundation that continues to inform his grounded, character driven approach to filmmaking. Before transitioning fully into producing, he spent several years in Miami building a career in modeling and acting while studying performance and media.
Known for blending cinematic craft with emotional truth, DeLaney’s work centers on resilience, identity and human connection. His collaborators describe him as reliable, instinctive and deeply committed to stories that matter.
